Choose the alert that
suits how you buy

Different households have different needs. Some want to buy at a specific target; others want to know when the market makes a meaningful move.

🎯
Target price alert
Most popular

You set a pence-per-litre threshold. Say, 90ppl for 1,000L. We email you the moment the UK average drops to or below that level. You decide what represents good value in your area, and we do the watching.

Best for: households who have a clear sense of what they want to pay and have enough tank capacity to wait for the right price
πŸ“‰
Percentage drop alert
For market watchers

Rather than a fixed target, this alert fires when prices fall by a meaningful percentage. Say, 5% or more. Within a rolling period. Particularly useful when you're not sure what your target should be, but you want to know when something significant moves.

Best for: buyers who want to act when the market dips noticeably, without committing to a specific ppl target
πŸ“§
Weekly digest
Low effort

Every Monday morning, a single email with the week's price movement. Where the UK average is now, how it's moved in the past 7 days, and a brief read on whether prices look likely to rise or fall. No noise, no urgency, just a regular check-in.

Best for: households who want to stay informed without being reactive. Useful for planning a top-up a few months ahead
πŸ“Š
Best buy signal
New

Our most analytical alert. We look at Brent crude trends, seasonal patterns, and current UK pricing to assess when conditions look particularly favourable for buyers. Not a guarantee, but a considered signal that it may be a good time to order.

Best for: buyers who want an informed view rather than a raw price figure, and who trust the data to help them decide

One email.
Nothing more.

When your alert condition is met, you get a single clean email β€” the current price, your savings opportunity, a direct link to compare suppliers, and an unsubscribe link that works first time, every time.

That's it. No follow-up. No "did you see our last email?". No supplier phone calls. The alert fires, you decide whether to act, and that's the entire relationship until the next time your condition is met.

No spam.
We mean it.

We know the reason most people don't sign up to things like this is a reasonable fear: "I'll get bombarded with emails I didn't ask for." Here's exactly what we commit to β€” in plain language, not legal boilerplate.

🎯
We only email you what you asked for
A target price alert fires once when the target is hit, not repeatedly, not "nearly there yet". A weekly digest is one email per week. That's the entire scope.
🚫
No marketing emails, ever
We will never send you promotional emails, supplier offers, newsletter content, or anything you didn't explicitly sign up for. Your email is used solely to deliver the alert you requested.
πŸ”•
We never pass your details to suppliers
When you click through to a supplier from a price alert, they do not receive your email address from us. No supplier will contact you as a result of setting a PriceTank alert.
πŸ—‘οΈ
Unsubscribe works instantly
Every alert email contains an unsubscribe link. One click removes you. No "are you sure?", no 10-day processing window, no re-confirmation email. Immediate, permanent.

Your data is stored in the UK
Alert data (your email, postcode, and threshold) is stored on UK servers under UK GDPR. We retain it only as long as your alert is active. Full details in our privacy policy.
Common questions

Everything you might
want to know

How often do you check prices? β–Ύ
We check prices against your alert threshold every time our scraper runs. Up to three times per day (7am, 12pm and 5pm). If your alert is triggered at any of those checks, you'll get the email within minutes.
What price is the alert based on? β–Ύ
Alerts compare against our national average kerosene price for 1,000L orders, derived from supplier data we scrape daily. It's a market indicator. Your local price from any specific supplier may vary slightly. When an alert fires, we recommend getting a direct quote to confirm the actual price in your postcode.
What should I set as my target price? β–Ύ
Look at the current market average on the PriceTank homepage. If it's 110ppl, a target of 95ppl or 90ppl represents a realistic "good deal" threshold. Prices do reach these levels in summer months. Setting your target too low (e.g. 70ppl) means you may wait a very long time and miss reasonable opportunities.
Will the alert fire repeatedly? β–Ύ
Target price alerts fire once per 24-hour period when the threshold is met, not on every single price check. If prices stay at or below your target for a week, you'll receive one alert per day maximum. We don't re-fire the same alert multiple times per day.
Can I set alerts for multiple postcodes? β–Ύ
Yes, just register separate alerts for each postcode. Currently each alert registration is tied to a single email address and postcode. There's no limit on the number of alerts you can set up from the same email address.
What if I go on holiday and miss an alert? β–Ύ
Your alert stays active indefinitely until you unsubscribe. If prices spike and then drop again while you're away, the alert will fire again when conditions are met. For the weekly digest, emails will simply be waiting in your inbox when you return.
Is this really free? What's the catch? β–Ύ
Completely free. PriceTank earns money when users click through to suppliers and complete an order. A standard referral fee model. Price alerts exist to bring you back to the site at the right moment, not to generate revenue directly. Your email address is never sold.
I set an alert but haven't received it β€” why? β–Ύ
Most likely the price hasn't reached your threshold yet. Check the current market price on the homepage. If the alert was set recently and prices are well above your target, that's expected. The alert is waiting. If you believe there's a technical issue, contact us at studio@colada.uk.
